I have played many video games over the years. And I think that I have played on almost every game system that has been on the market. I have many favorite games, but I must say I just purchased one of my all time favorites for my daughter for Christmas. I won’t keep you in suspense any longer, it is Sonic Spinball! I have always loved playing the old pinball machines and this game gives me the best of both worlds. The size for one (I can’t fit a pinball machine in my home), I don’t have to keep adding quarters to continue, and for the age of game the graphics are pretty good. Yeah, sure, there are newer games that have better graphics, but Spinball lets you hit Sonic like a steel ball around many obstacles and thru many levels. You even get to fight the Bosses at the end of sections! This is a win-win game. And the whole family can play!

I can’t wait for my daughter to open this on Christmas Eve so we can play it all weekend. I even got a Wii remote for dad so he can play, too! I know what you are thinking, “There is no Sonic Spinball for the Wii!” And you would be right; Game Cube games can also be played on the Wii! But don’t forget to get a new controller and have a memory card installed when you boot the game up or you won’t get very far. My cousin told me about the Game Cube games being compatible for the Wii and this has opened up a great bunch of games for my daughter. He even gave us a controller so we didn’t have to purchase one.

My vote for the best new retro game is, was, and will always be…..Sonic Spinball.
